Well, most of my clients from north Europe choose Italy as wine country in Europe. They are fashinated to have a wedding cantine whe they can offer local wine and wine tasting. usually wine country offer also wonderful venues, accommodation and facilities. Consider vineyard wedding style is quite chic too, if I not wrong wine is nectar of gods.
I LOVE photographing in Italy and try to head back at least once a year. It offers the experience of some of the best wine you will EVER taste (and I've lived in Southern Cali and VA....not exactly lacking in the wine Industry..).
The people in Italy are more relaxed and more interested in the celebration than they are in the planning and going nuts part.
The scenery and the feel of wine country just can't be beat. It's being put into the archetypal European love story. Who doesn't want to be Audrey Hepburn in a Roman Holiday anyways?

Agreed, the lighting against the old orangy buildings, crumbling castles perched on hilltops, vibrant green vineyards below... not to mention the best FOOD AND WINE in the world!
