Liability Insurance for Wedding Planners

This may be a stupid question but they say there is never a stupid question so here it is.  Please advice if liability insurance is a must for wedding and event planners?  Any input is appreciated.

It is, and the clients should have wedding insurance as well.

What is considered fair coverage and can it be purchased strictly on an event basis?
