When thinking of alternative wedding ideas, there is the idea of making it like every other day. Casual weddings are great for couples who don’t want to spend a fortune or get anyone to spend money on dresses but also who don’t care for the big show and just want to celebrate their love with their friends and family.
Casuals have become increasingly popular over the past few years and I can understand why. This alternative offers couples a relaxed, affordable and personalised alternative to the traditional and mainstream wedding plan. This trend is not only reflecting a shift towards what counts as a good celebration of a union but also how people are starting to value alternative ways to demonstrate their love.
Whether you are looking for a venue that offers a relaxed atmosphere, whether it be a restaurant private room, a beach or even a barn, you can choose a place that is perfect for both the ceremony and reception.
Ask your guests to come dressed as they please, whether it be cargo pants and a t-shirt or a casual summer dress. There should be no harsh rules on the dress code; just make sure they all know they don’t have to come suited and booted.
You don’t need any silver service, as your friends and family don’t care about any of that stuff. Weddings are mainly for drinking, dancing and giving the couple so much love and attention, so having a buffet with all of your friends and family's favourite food will leave everyone satisfied and is an extremely chilled option.
A casual wedding is the perfect excuse to have a very small and intimate celebration, don’t be afraid to be cutthroat about it because of its casual nature. there will be so many who wouldn’t expect and invite so be sure that you choose family and friends that know your relationship and can share in the love.
Incorporate fun activities like lawn games, live music or even a bonfire to mix the day up and ensure that it’s still a memorable experience. There are so many things you can do that not only bring out some of your inner child but also keep your guests entertained. This also helps with the decision-making, as your guest will be dressed in their men's graphic tees and jeans, so you won’t have to worry about them wanting to get stuck in.
Weddings don’t always have to be traditional so the idea of a casual wedding is becoming a much more attractive option for two lovebirds who would rather spend more money elsewhere. Intimate weddings can come in so many different forms and it’s those that I find the most romantic of all else: deciding to get married without making a big deal out of it, while that’s not to shrug off a big wedding ending the stigma that every wedding needs to be big for it to be good.
