What type of wedding dress should you buy ?
There are five fundamental body shapes that most women fall in to Apple, hourglass, inverted triangle, ruler and pear.
For those who fall in the Apple category
Apple shaped people will suit dresses which have eye catching bodices with an open neckline, like a v-neck or perhaps a sweetheart. This creates focus on the neck and clavicle.
For those who fall in the Hourglass category
Those with an hourglass shape have a larger bust, and hips with a slim waist. A fuller A-line or ball gown skirt, that gradually flares out, will highlight their slim-line waist yet minimize the hips.
For those who fall in the inverted triangle category
Broader shoulders and slim waists, hips and legs is the inverted triangle body type. Wedding dresses with gorgeous voluminous skirt will serve to make the body style appear more evenly balanced.
For those who fall in the Ruler category
Slender or athletic builds, with small curves or “the ruler” type figure are beautifully suited to a fitted silhouette, like a mermaid-style gown. An hourglass shape can be created with the use of a corset type waist, and ruffles in the bodice section.
For those who fall in the Tangle category
A triangle shape means that you have fuller hips and thighs, complemented by a slim upper half. Similarly to the Hourglass shape, A-line / ball gown silhouettes dresses will draw attention away from lower body curves, and gowns with embellishments at the waist will bring the attention to the smallest area of your body.
