What's new with you?

I've been busy these last few weeks.  I have 8 new rental contracts for my business.

I rent wedding and special event decor.

I am not getting many local brides, but I do have several around the country.

What is my hot rental?  Chair covers and sashes!!

The number one asked about item on my website, Craigslist, and Ebay is chair covers.

I think that a lot of brides don't spend the extra money for them because of the expense.

I just recently started offering free chair sashes with 100 or more chair cover rentals.  That has increased my sales at least 50%.

I am offering chair covers at $1.25 rental price.  My largest rental is 300 and my smallest was 110.

I had a lady in Texas say she could rent the chair covers locally for $1.00. but when she saw my ad for free chair sashes she decided to order from me.

With the return shipping she was getting 320 items (160 chair covers and 160 chair sashes) basically for 70 cents each.

My local business is just been mainly silk flowers and vases so far.

I still would prefer to get more local brides because of the personal contact.

I have come up with a plan to send out a postcard to all the churches in my area telling them about my rental program.  I'm hoping they would refer people setting up weddings to give me a call.  I've drafted my postcard and now just need to get it printed.  There are approximately 100 churches in my city and surrounding area.
