A Single Man, a movie by Tom Ford
This weekend, I plan to see Tom Ford's directorial debut of "A Single Man". Of course, I want to see his interpretation of this incredible book, but I am even more eager to see the vintage clothing used or recreated for the movie. There is no doubt that Mr. Ford's inherent and impeccable command of fashion will translate like one giant, glossy, fashion magazine brought to life on the big screen. I have a feeling I'm going to this movie, a lot.
The movie, an adaptation of the Christopher Isherwood novel A Single Man, debuted last September at the Venice Film Festival with rave reviews. Since it's limited release the buzz has not stopped.
The book takes place in southern California in 1964. It centers on a gay man who, after the sudden death of his partner, is determined to persist in his usual routine, which is seen in the span of a single day. Julianne Moore's role is that of his best friend with issues of her own.
With a brilliant cast of actors like Colin Firth and Julianne Moore (I want her wardrobe from this movie!). I have no doubt that the acting will be just as beautiful as the cinematography.© 2024 Created by Christine Dyer. Powered by
