Choosing a wedding venue can be tricky sometimes especially with all the places that abound as wedding venues.

There are churches, restaurants, parks, golf clubs, beaches, private villa’s and many other locations to choose from and for many the choices can become overwhelming!

Of course depending on your budget and your style the posibilities are endless.

You can choose various venues for your ceremony and reception or you can use just one venue for everything and this will generally save you money in venue hire, decorations and transport. Some venues will even waive the ceremony fee if you are spending a certain amount on the reception, although you will still have to pay the celebrant.

Find a venue with accommodation

Many wedding venues will offer a complimentary stay in the honeymoon suite to couples spending a certain amount on their wedding reception. You may also be able to negotiate a discount on venue hire if you can guarantee a certain number of guests will be booking accommodation at the venue as well.

Go back to the location where you first met, where you got your first kiss or even where he proposed to you! These places hold good memories for both of you and holding your wedding there with your loved ones will surely make your day very special.

• Choose a destination wedding 

Holding your wedding in another country is sure a challenge for you but in the end it is all about your day and how to enjoy it to the fullest.

Since most destination weddings take place on the beach I generally advise the couple to stay at the same location they are holding their wedding ceremony so they can save even more with a total package.
