Wedding Traditions - Do you know their origins? - Wedding Favors

According to most etiquette and bridal experts, wedding favors are a way for the bride and groom to share their wedding magic with all of their guests.

Brides and grooms have always been considered to be lucky. In past times wedding guess wanted that luck to rub off on them. So the guests would help themselves to this luck by tearing off ribbons or small pieces of lace from the bride's wedding dress. They would snatch little flowers from her bouquet.

Then along came the wedding favor. The bride's dress and bouquet all remained in one piece and the guests still got a piece of wedding magic.

Favors can be as simple or elaborate as you want. The favors should reflect your style, personality and budget for your wedding. Most of all, remember that the favor is a way to say thank you to all of your guests for sharing in your special day. And maybe, some of your happiness and good luck will rub off on your guests.
