When I was first married 36 years ago I was 18 yrs old and I had no worries about my weight.  I’m 5’2” and weighed about 110-115.  Today I’m 54 and my weight is 124 lbs, not too bad. I want to get down to 120 lbs.   I don’t remember girls or guys trying to lose so much weight 30+ years ago for their weddings.  I believe it’s because brides and grooms are older now and weight is an issue with some.  None of my girlfriends worried about their weight like girls do today and I’m no different.  Weight problems do get worse when you’re older and it’s harder to lose it.  Wait till menopause, yikes.  Here is where I’m at today:  Things are going down, my weight I mean. I've lost 9 lbs since my last post a week ago and doing very good. I'm still on alli pills for breakfast and dinner. I'm keeping my foods low in fat and eating lots more veggies. I’ve read the Pritikin book and thought it was really good and full of great nutrition advice. I’m reading a book now from a guy who worked at the Pritikin Center and takes the diet one step further and adds in more healthy fats.  The book is OK and covers a lot of things that the first book covered.  My daily meals consists of, breakfast – oatmeal, ½ med banana & skim milk, lunch – Greek yogurt and fruit, dinner – lean meat, lots of veggies, potato or brown rice.  My snacks are Smart Balance microwave popcorn or fruit.  I was very busy with a couple parties over the weekend but I was able to maintain my weight almost to the ounce.  So far I’ve been happy with the alli pill and the Pritikin way of eating is very sensible.
