You just got engaged and now it's time to plan your Wedding. You ask this question...."Do I really need to hire a Wedding Planner?" The answer is YES!
A Bride must realize that a Planner has the experience and the working knowledge of carrying out this special day from start to finish without a lot of "guess work." Wedding Planners have the knowledge of budgeting, planning time-frames, proper etiquette, handling issues that may arise and also has a working relationship with various vendors which is a plus for any Bride. Does a Bride think of every detail regarding her Wedding Day? Will you be able to direct the day of your Wedding and also be able to enjoy your guests and family members that you may not be able to see until next year? Will you be able to hire a proficient vendor for your budget? If you have help from friends and family members, do they have the experience of a Planner that can service an event from 50 guests to 300? Are you able to remedy a situation that may arise while you are walking down the aisle? These are some of the issues a Bride needs to consider if she thinks a Planner is just an "added expense".
Wedding Planners are definitely a must! I would like to tell you about one of my past clients. She hired me just for Day of Services as she, her mother and Maid of Honor wanted to do the planning themselves; which is very exciting, but they didn't realize all the details of planning a Wedding. I met with her a week before to get her plans and they were so out of whack! She ended up spending a lot more than what was needed for her event as she wasn't familiar with vendors. They decorated the venue themselves as she didn't want to pay to have it done and ended up with colors that didn't match, moving chairs and tables, making several trips to Walmart as she realized she needed certain items, a 2 hour job which took them about 4 hours. The Rehearsal which should have been at least 1 hour ended up 2 hours as they were not aware of proper etiquette. The Bride was so exhausted by the time of the Reception that she didn't want to dance, hardly smiled in her photos and almost cried at one point.
Every Bride should be fresh, excited and filled with joy the Day of her Wedding and only have tears of joy, not exhaustion. Planners are well worth the price and should be included in your budget. It is with their guidance that you will be able to have pleasurable memories of your special day!
