It is very common for women to associate certain perfumes or scents with special moments in their lives, particular memories or even people which makes it that much more important to find the right perfume for your wedding day. One of my bridesmaids and I were out shopping around on Michigan Avenue on the Friday of my bachelorette party with a mission of purchasing my wedding day perfume. That week I had just received a Nordstrom catalog with the latest Juicy Couture fragrance sample in it and at that very moment I knew it was the one. I had been thinking for weeks about what perfume I had wanted to wear on our wedding day and as soon as the catalog arrived I was sold. It was a beautiful fragrance, not too overpowering yet still very feminine and sweet - perfect for our wedding. Knowing exactly what I wanted Lauren and I stopped into Nordstrom and after several minutes with a ridiculously helpful sales associate  we were on our way with Juicy Couture and YSL {for my husband} in hand. As we strolled down Michigan Avenue the discussion of whether I wear it before the wedding or not came up. It was a long discussion, probably one my friend could careless to hear about after the first 3 minutes, but the final decision I made was the wrong one. I decided to try it out the night of my bachelorette party. I was excited, I loved the frangrance and let's be serious I just could not wait another 3 months to wear it. At the same time I thought I should wear it a few times so my fiance would recognize the scent the day of our wedding when he saw me for the first time at the alter. While these are valid points and were strong enough at the time for me to choose to wear the new perfume, I now look back on that day with a little regret. See the problem is every time I spray that perfume the first thing I think of is my weekend at The Wit with my girlfriends rather than the morning of my wedding day. Don't get me wrong, they aren't bad memories and the fragrance still does remind me of our wedding day, just not the way I had anticipated it to. Fail! So please ladies take my for lack of a better word poor judgment of trying my wedding day perfume out before our actual wedding day and save that first spray for your special day. This fragrance will forever bring you great memories, take your time finding the right one and, yes, even splurge if you have to. You will {I hope}only be getting married once after all let's make every detail count!
