Wedding day at Skamania Lodge in the Columbia Gorge.

ALL of our couples are beautiful, worth waiting for, exciting to see marry and fun to be around. We're lucky enough to have a career that is so rewarding, on all fronts. But every once in a while, we get to meet and get to know and get to photograph a super special couple; one who we end up bonding with and caring about and anticipating the wedding of, above and beyond what a regular 'ol "working relationship" usually leads to. Maybe Josh and I are just waaaaay sensitive... don't blame us! We love what we do and everything and everyone that is associated with what it is that we do ;)

Sara & Dane are the couple that we had been waiting one and a half years for. We met at the Portland Perfect Wedding Guide's wedding/bridal show at the Heathman Hotel, in March of 2010. It was obvious that we were a match. We waited for the perfect summer day (back in 2010) to meet for their engagement session (see their photos here: we ended up hiking to the top of Silver Star Mountain!).

One year later, here we are! Blogging about their wedding day, which has finally come and bitter-sweetly... gone. The day was fabulous! We met them at Skamania Lodge in my old personal stomping grounds of Stevenson, WA in the Columbia Gorge. From 11am to 9:30pm, Josh and I saw Sara & Dane go from being excited to see each other for the first time all dressed up, to exhausted from having danced the night away with friends and family. A perfect wedding day!

Oh! And my best friend Bobby (owner and brewer of Walking Man Brewery right there in Stevenson) came to the lodge to quickly say hi to me at the end of the night. He drove up with his 1967, vintage, British Racing Green, Lotus Super-7 and offered to have Sara & Dane sit in it for photos! Well... they sure did! At the end of the night, we made it seem as if their were rushing away in the speedy little car... what an awesome extra little bonus to add to an already awesome day. Thank you Bobby! <3
