A wedding doesn’t have to themed to incorporate vintage elements…A few vintage accessories add a touch of classic style for any groom and groomsmen.

Compared to an extravagant wedding or bridesmaid dress, wedding attire for men may seem to come up a little short. Some vintage touches like antique cufflinks or decorative pocket squares can add some understated style to any man’s wedding day outfit.

Vintage Ties

Ties are often the most colorful part of a man’s suit. They help coordinate the wedding party by matching the bridesmaids’ dresses or accessories. Here are some different options to include vintage or antique ties in a wedding outfit.

  • Bow ties. These ties can fall on the side of classy or gimmicky depending on the cut, pattern, and material of the tie. Silk and satin are both wedding-appropriate fabrics, while stain-resistant microfiber can masquerade as a more luxurious material as well.   • Striped neckties. A necktie with wide stripes and bold colors is reminiscent of mens’ collegiate fashion from the 1920′s. This style is probably best for daytime, less formal ceremonies.
