Weddings are a celebration of two people coming together. There are plenty of traditions that are carried through at weddings. However, there are a few ideas that will help you to break out of the norm so that you can do what you want to do. It can allow you to create amazing memories and give people something to talk about.
Many weddings are held in hotels where the only catering option is the food directly from the on-site restaurant. This means that you’re eating ‘hotel food’ when you get right down to it. Plenty of couples are refusing to go with the norm here because they want to eat their favorite foods. If you and your other half have a love of guacamole and tacos, you can have a local eatery like El Molinito Restaurant & Catering at your wedding. It’s unique and you can ensure the food is going to be good.
Wedding cakes are expensive and fussy. You may want to say “no” to the cake entirely by doing another fun dessert. Think about what your favorite dessert of all time is or what you and your partner enjoys eating together. That is what you should serve as the dessert for your wedding. More and more couples are ditching the cake in favor of a donut board, a table filled with pies, and so many other exciting sweet treats.
It’s not uncommon for brides to spend thousands of dollars on a wedding dress that they’re going to wear one day. Many brides are now choosing to forget the traditional attire in favor of saving money for other things, like a rockin’ honeymoon or a down payment on a house. Plenty of wedding dress alternatives are out there, allowing you to dress comfortably while still looking great.
Open bars are expensive. It’s also not very personal. Plenty of couples are getting creative by having a BYOB bar where they hire a bartender. You may also want to have a mixologist create a cocktail that is special for your big day. Of course, other couples are bringing in local breweries to have a keg or two made available to all of the guests. You can include what you want to include without feeling obligated to do it ‘the way it has always been done.’
Don’t feel obligated to follow tradition when it comes to your wedding. When you want to break out of the norm, there are plenty of ways to do so.
