The groom has traditionally not received as much attention as the bride on a couple's wedding day. Typically, men wear a traditional black-and-white tux, and there isn't much variation in style. This has changed dramatically in the last few years as more options have become available and as men have become more style savvy about their wedding days.

If you are looking to break out of the traditional tux mold, here are a few trends for wedding tuxedos that you may consider:

Grey Tuxedo

Who says your tux has to be black at all? Stylish grooms have an array of options, including the grey and brown tuxedos. The grey tuxedo is hot right now, and the brown tuxedo is quickly gaining favor. Opt for a lighter shade or a steel gray, depending on your own personal style.

Return of the Bowtie

It has been in vogue for grooms to wear ties with their tuxes for a while now. However, that trend has fallen out of favor and has been replaced by a return of the classic bowtie. You can go with a classic black or can choose a pop of color to show off your style or to match the bridesmaids dresses or other wedding details.

Non-Matching Vests

Current wedding trends have let go of the need to match everything in the wedding party. That means no more uniform bridesmaid dresses and no more tux vests to match those bridesmaid dresses. If you (or the bride) still want to have a coordinating element between the two parties, you and your groomsmen can wear a matching pocket square or boutonniere. You can skip the vest altogether or pick a color that reflects your own style.

The monochromatic tux is out, and current trends are seeing more experimentation with color and the freedom to express personal style in the details.
