Top 5 Wedding Trends 2012 { From Bowties to Fireworks }

With wedding trends constantly changing, it's important to keep up to date as you plan your big day.  Luckily, we are here to help.  Here are the top 5 wedding trends you need to know for 2012.

1. Bow ties are back - nothing says class & elegance like a black bow tie.  We are already starting to see this trend start to grow with celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Hilary Duff, and Ivanka Trump.  A black bow tie is something that will look good years after your wedding and it never goes out of style.

2. White pallets are in - this trend started at the royal wedding when Pippa Middelton wore a white bridesmaid dress.  It shocked viewers around the world because for years, wearing white to a wedding was a huge faux pas.  Well, say hello to white because not only are white bridesmaids dresses the new trend, but white flowers & decor are as well.  Its clean, its elegant, its here!

3. Formality can still have personality - There are no rules that say you can't have your own unique touches at your wedding just because it's a formal event.  Add personality in unexpected places to show off your style while still staying traditional.  Wearing different colored shoes with your wedding gown is a great way to stay traditional but still add an unexpected twist to your wedding style.

4. The night doesn't end with the reception - A wedding is the biggest party of your life, so why end it at the reception?  Hosting an "after party" is gaining more and more popularity amongst couples who want their wedding festivities to last longer.  This can be as simple as inviting your bridal party to your favorite bar/lounge after the reception, to inviting all your wedding guests to brunch the day after the wedding.

5. Surprises are a must - Nothing gets guests more excited at a wedding than a surprise! Whether the surprise is fireworks, a food truck, or even the couple performing a secret dance, it will catch guests off guard & set the tone for an amazing, fun wedding.
