The color you choose for your big day is important, and we want to give you all the different ways to incorporate the hottest 2013 wedding color trends into your wedding. As a bride, choosing your wedding colors can be a stressful task. After all, not everyone can simply wear white like you! It is often helpful to utilize the colors that are trending as a starting point for your entire wedding design, then build your tone, mood and look from there. 2013 wedding color trends continue to thrive and we’re happy to share them with you!
Hottest Color Trend: Mint Green
Mint is a subtle color, giving a wedding color scheme a more relaxed feel while still conveying elegance and sophistication. Perhaps one of the biggest ways to incorporate mint into your wedding is by choosing it as your color for bridesmaid dresses or for the flower girl dress. Also, try to provide at least a couple of different dessert flavor options, but don't forget to try some minty desserts to tie the color into the flavor as well. You can use mint-flavored frosting, or place little candies on each table. We have an entire blog dedicated to ways you can use mint!
Hottest Complementary Color: Coral
Part of a great pair or a stand-alone statement, coral is one of the year’s top color trends. This red-orange combination can easily be paired with mint green, white or blue. Pairing this girlie color with black will be even more dramatic. To emphasize the coral elements to the wedding, coral flowers are an easy addition.
Best Pop of Color: Lemon Zest
Let’s be honest, yellow just makes people happy. Lemon zest is cheerful, refreshing and perfect for a summer wedding. It’s the color of sunshine and is sure to make you shine on your big day! Yellow roses, lilies and even sunflowers can brighten the decorations and centerpieces. Yellow dresses may not flatter the skin tone of every bridesmaid so choose gray dresses with bright yellow bouquets instead. Want more yellow? Serve lemonade as a refreshment!
Most Dramatic Color: Exotic African Violet
This pale shade of purple can easily be incorporated into many unexpected color combinations, even poppy red, to cause a dramatic effect. African violet is intriguing, exotic and sure to make a statement. Throw in a pop of purple with purple shoes underneath a white wedding dress!
Most Traditional Color Trend: Black & White
Black and white is a classic combination that never gets old. It’s easy to coordinate with other color palettes and produces a sophisticated appearance. This color combo is proof that sometimes less really is more! A black tablecloth can be spiced up with any color of coordinating plates!
Each color has many reasons why it great. No matter what color you choose, make your wedding your own! The 2013 wedding color trends are a starting point to planning your perfect day.
