Tips from a Wedding DJ - Personalize Your Music Selection

As a wedding DJ, our job goes much further than just playing music and making announcements at your wedding.  One of the other roles that we pride ourselves on is offering our brides and grooms different options on how to make their wedding unique and personal to them.

Over the next few weeks, we will offer various tips on how to do just that at your wedding reception!

Tips From a Wedding DJ:

#2.  Personalize Your Music Selection

Work with your wedding DJ to personalize the songs for your cocktail hour and dinner.  These can be songs that are meaningful from your relationship.  Maybe you remember the song that was playing from the night you met or maybe you had a song repeatedly come up on your IPOD shuffle during your cross country trip that the two of you belted out at the top of your lungs.

Your playlist selections can also be personalized with memorable songs around friends and family.  Was there a particular artist that was very popular during your senior year of college that you and your friends loved?  Or does your family have a song that they sing together every year at your family reunion?

You can simply provide your wedding DJ with a list of specific songs that you would like played, or you can mention a few artists to steer the music towards.

No matter what songs you would like to incorporate, the cocktail and dinner hours are a perfect way to make your day more personal to you and your fiance.
