When the big day is coming around, there is a lot to think about, but making sure you have everything packed should be a priority! We’re here to cover the main items you’ll need to pack to make sure you’ve got everything you need for a stress free wedding morning.
Firstly, let’s start with the obvious, your wedding outfit and accessories. Everyone’s outfit is slightly different so we can’t put an exact list together, however the best thing to do is lay out everything you think you’ll need, try it all on, and you’ll soon figure out if you’re missing anything! For most grooms, this would include:
You never know what's going to happen on the day, from rips to spills, and so you should definitely get a spare shirt to take with you. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst! The last thing you want is to be ready to walk down the aisle, spill something on you or someone drop something, then you can’t do anything about it. So, get a second shirt, and if you don’t end up needing it, you could always change into it later in the day to freshen up!
Whilst taking two shirts is quite reasonable, two suits is exercise. So, get some dry cleaning wipes to take with you in case anything is dropped on your suit, these could be a life saver!
Next up, you want to be feeling fresh, so don’t forget any toiletries:
We’d always recommend that you hold onto the wedding rings until just before the ceremony, then give it to the best man, as you want to make sure you have full control of them! Pack them somewhere safe and don\t forget them, as you’re likely to have someone angry at the other end of the aisle!
If you’re getting thank you gifts for anyone who has been significant in the wedding, from parents to groomsmen, make sure they’re packed. You might also have handmade cards or something like that, so make sure you have everything with you!
We’re sure you’ll have spent quite a bit of time perfecting your speech, so don’t forget the notes! We’d always recommend writing your speech down onto prompt cards, as it just looks much better in the photos than holding a phone (pass this tip onto the father of the bride and the best man too!).
In the rush to get everything ready for the wedding, often you might forget about the next day! Yet, you want to be looking your best for your first day as a married couple, no matter where you’re going. So, pack your underwear and socks, then if you’re heading straight home or to the airport, choose something comfy like a mens full tracksuit, or if you’re wanting to dress up a bit more, go for a nice overshirt, jeans and loafers.
