The Tanning Question: Are You an English Rose or a California Girl?

To tan or not to tan has been a huge question among my group of friends. One of them did do the spray tan and she was a gorgeous bronze skinned goddess for her ocean side wedding. Another close friend from New York tied the knot in wine country and looked like a ethereal woodland sprite with her creamy complexion and adorable sprinkle of freckles across her nose. Both women were so beautiful and so different.

The epitome of the English Rose and California girl are, of course, Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz. I love them both and I'm going to use these two looks to illustrate the pros of both fair skin and sun kissed skin. I'm not saying that pale-skinned beauties can't be fun or flirty, or golden girls can't be sophisticated and elegant, but the use of the bronzer or the blush can further heighten your wedding theme.

Kate Winslet is the perfect example of feminine grace and old world elegance circa Titanic and likewise, Cameron Diaz is the ideal beach babe in Charlie's Angles. Of the two women, Kate Winslet gets to pull off the more dramatic color palette. Her bold lip and hair color is offset by her porcelain skin, and she has those perfectly arched eyebrows. Cameron Diaz is wearing a dazzling mix of golds, nudes, and dusky pinks, and boy! do her arms look toned!
