When bridal jewelry line, Thomas Laine sent me a rose-gold necklace as a gift recently, it was a clear signal that this metal was going to be one of the hot new trends for bridal in 2015.
After many years of platinum, titanium, white gold and silver reigning in popularity, rose- gold and antique gold are now the clear favourites. Rose-gold is also being combined with other metals as well.
Here is the “glam list” for this year:
Bridal Flower Crown – In keeping with the bohemian theme and woodland aesthetic, flower crowns will be the ‘it” headwear for 2015. They can be worn alone or placed over the veil.
Bridal Halo – Halos are jeweled, statement headpieces that go around the entire circumference of a bride’s head, as opposed to bandeau’s which typically are only decorated half the way around.
Shoulder necklaces – These jewelry pieces drape from the neck and around the shoulders in an almost cape-like fashion. Some necklaces feature jeweled fringes that drop to the front of the necklace and cover the front of the chest.
Deco-style – Jewelry with a 1920’s feel will continue to be trendy. This year we will see more statement necklaces featuring geometric art deco motifs, pearl tassels and strands of pearls
Wrist Wear- There is still the trend of statement cuffs (featuring scroll work or filigree, studs or solid bands) as well as stacks of varied bangles, for example pearl bangles interspersed with diamond or rhinestone bangles. Bracelets featuring a single dangling charm are also in vogue.
Personalisation - To accommodate the new wave of brides who want to personalise their look or simply be unique; many jewelry lines will be offering customizable initial diamond pendants and lockets for 2015.
Gemstones – Popular gems this year will be yellow diamonds, grey pearls and champagne diamonds.
