I have already raved about the amazing
Carlee - function coordinator extraordinaire. Now I will actually tell you why the Newcastle Club were such a perfect venue for our wedding.
For those of you who aren't familiar with the Club they are situated on Newcomen Street in Newcastle CBD. Don't look for it on the street-it isn't sign posted or obvious to the eye.

Stepping into the beautiful halls we immediately fell in love with the beautiful wood furnishings and the old world charm of the place. We were hooked, line and sinker into wanting to have our wedding there and no where else.
As you can tell by the Club
website they have a deep tradition which is reflected in their dress code and membership standards. But hang on, a place like this isn't going to let us have a karaoke wedding are they? Well, tradition and dress code doesn't mean inflexible and pompous in fact nothing could be further from the truth. Karaoke was definitely on the cards and encouraged.
The staff are phenomenally attentive, while most brides will complain that they "didn't eat a thing on their wedding day" during our brief photo session throughout the club rooms we had an attendant at all times, making sure we had all the canapes and drinks we could ask for. During the meal there was one staff member for every three tables which meant none of the guests went hungry or thirsty. Mickey and I were served first and offered our choice of the menu - a delightful treat!
When we had a surprise vegetarian at the wedding, no questions asked the meal was replaced with a vegetarian option, quickly and quietly. All of the liaising for the event was done through staff and the MC's which meant that even if there was a problem, neither Mickey or I heard about it.
When some of guests were enjoying the Karaoke a little too much, the staff merrily allowed them one last song before sending them on their way. To this day we are still getting compliments on the venue, how well they did and the high standard of accommodation that was offered to the guests for the night.
(I think my Mum fell in love with Carlee a little because she was so nice)
It doesn't matter if you have your wedding in the most expensive place in town or the least. The service that you get on the night is what makes the expense worthwhile. I would recommend the Newcastle Club to any couple in a heartbeat.
