Mel is an art teacher so designing pretty wedding decorations comes naturally to her. She made this amazing felt bouquet for her youngest bridesmaid Ffion and carried another eyecatching fabric wedding bouquet herself.
There was a touch of vintage in the wedding theme too. Clever Mel asked all the ladies to wear gloves and the outfits were amazing, not surprising as one of the bride's oldest friends Laura has founded a vintage and bridal store. (We like this idea of asking female guests to follow a dress theme, we've featured it before.)
The bride made all the wedding favours too - these driftwood boats with individually stitched names complemented the seaside location in west Wales. Mel also sewed all the brightly coloured tablecloths for the wedding reception and handmade decorative fabric bunting.
The easel table plan followed the overall colour scheme of the reception - with a small strip of the tablecloth fabric. So once you discovered your table, you just looked around the marquee for the matching tablecloth style. The imaginative table centrepieces for the wedding party were brightly coloured balls of felt with chunky white buttons.
Mel certainly tied the matrimonial knot in a very imaginative way - there's lots of DIY wedding inspiration here. If you've any hints and tips you'd like to share on handmade favours and stationery then let us know.
