Surprise Proposal Extravaganza with Carina and Alexander

Bride’s Full Name: Carina Belcastro

Groom’s Full Name:  Alexander Vincent Favaloro

Wedding Date: 24/09/2017

How many guests? 220

How did you and your partner meet? We met in the city clubbing at 18.

How did he propose? Alex took me on a last minute surprise trip to Queensland. While I was getting ready in the room for dinner alex said he needed to talk to the taxi driver for a sec and he will call me to come down when we were ready to leave. Not long after I get a call to come downstairs and alex was nowhere to be seen but a limo was pulled up at the reception. After being greeted by the driver I was told there was a surprise organized and he was going to take me. After a 10 minute trip I was taken to the wharf where I was walked to the helicopter pad. Still by myself I was told to get onto the helicopter and they took me for a 10 minute flight over surface. Once we landed I was taken to the next spot. Still on the wharf I was taken to the most beautiful gondola where I finally saw alex on one knee with a ring and red roses. After that we went for a 2 hour ride on the gondola having dinner and desert and champagne.

What’s your most important piece of advice for creating and maintaining a strong relationship? Always make time to communicate no matter how tired or busy you both are. There is not a day that goes by that alex and I wont tell each other everything that happened In the day, interesting or not we just love to talk.

Tell us about your wedding gown and how you chose it: It just felt right as soon as it was on. Having a very short torso it was hard to find a style that worked. This dress in particular somehow gave me length and made me feel amazing.

What sort of style did you envision for your wedding day (in terms of venue & décor + styling)? I envisioned a softer style of vintage and Gatsby combined.

What was your favorite moment from the day? The church. It was so beautiful and the promise that you and your partner are making to each other infront of loved ones there is no better feeling. Your in another world for those few minutes.

Any DIY décor elements? No

If you could do it all over again, what would you change? Stress less and take it all in more.

Any tips that you can give to future brides? There will always be something that wont go to plan. Try not to let it get to you and don’t rush even if your late. I was so stressed that I was going to be late and I didn’t want to make people wait I ended up missing out on a lot of photos and forgot to do a few things. Ended up being at the church 15 minutes early..Its your day, people will wait just make sure you enjoy every moment.
