To kick off the New Year, we are going to tell you what OUR top picks are from the New Spring 2011 Collections. Since we all have very different taste, we each came up with our own list of Top 12 Designer Wedding Dresses and Designer Bridesmaid Dresses. We have no idea what the other person’s list is so we may have some similar dresses or completely different! I know I am VERY excited to present you with my list, but I am equally excited to see what my fellow Wedding Shoppe Inc. ladies have chosen for theirs – I know they will be amazing no matter what though.
I am going to start with my Top 12 designer bridesmaid dresses – save the wedding dresses for later since they are bit a more exciting! When I look at all these designer bridesmaid gowns (being a bridesmaid already once and will be two more times this coming summer), I try to find what is rewearable! Being a bridesmaid, I have to say it gets EXTREMELY expensive between the bridal shower gifts, shoes, dress, hair, make-up, wedding gift, rehearsal dinner dress (and shoes if you are a shoe freak like me), and well you get the point! I know when it’s my turn for planning my wedding, my main bridesmaid goal would be to find designer bridesmaid gowns my girls can rewear again – they spend a lot, I would hope they love them! I chose the following dresses based on that goal, and of course also using my own taste and style! I hope my friends and other brides agree with the rewearable (and VERY CUTE) factor on each of these:
One of my favorite things about Love by Enzoani is their attention to detail. The beading and decoration that goes into each dress is exquisite! What I love even more on this Love by Enzoani Bridesmaid Dress C20 is the draping and ruched detailing completing the gown, and of course the jeweled natural waistline. This entire dress cascades with elegance; even looking at the back it’s bustled so perfectly and flows into a soft sweep train. Although this could not be shortened, it can be worn again to dressier evening event. The only downfall to Love by Enzoani is their price tag, very expensive designer bridesmaid gowns.
This Jim Hjelm Bridesmaid Dress JH5117T made my list because I think its sweet meets sassy. The sweetheart neckline is one of the most popular necklines right now and complete with a great hemline and asymmetrical draping, and you have yourself an amazing little designer bridesmaid dress. I also love how the back comes to a little V-point, so sassy! Besides this being an very rewearable designer bridesmaid dress, best part about it and this Jim Hjelm Occasions Collection is the option of a matching necklace – not all but some have the option. Quick and easy way to pick out your girls necklace, they don’t cost very much and they can wear that all the time.
The Dessy Group is an awesome company; we really enjoy working with them, and since they have so many collections it gives brides more options at different price points. I love their variety of colors and many of their dresses coming in the option of short or long such as Dessy Bridesmaid Dress 2818. I prefer this dress in the short, but the long is still very pretty. I really like the higher neckline with the tiny slit, and of course LOVE the pockets; I think pockets are the greatest things on dresses! This dress is made out of Silk Shantung which happens to be one of my favorite fabrics; it has such a different texture it sort of brings the dress to life.
This Watters and Watters Bridesmaid Dress 8510 is so fun I can’t stop looking at it. I want this to wear out in the Twin Cities – pair it with some really cute shoes, and you are good to go! The sheer neckline, ruffle bodice, and floral décor on the natural waistline are all so perfect creating such a fun and unique dress… I don’t think I need to say anything from there!
Jim Hjelm Bridesmaid Dress JH5125 is so elegant for any wedding. I typically stray away from the mermaid, fit-and-flare, and trumpet style designer bridesmaid gowns because I think they are more suited for a bridal gown, but this trumpet gown is so incredibly stunning. From head-to-toe this dupioni dress is perfect, but my favorite part is the back. I always enjoy flirty attributes to any dress, and this open back is very flirtatious. Can you imagine shortening this after the wedding and rewearing it? It would be such a sassy little dress; you would wear it over and over again because you wouldn’t be able to get enough of it.
Jasmine always has a large variety of bridesmaid dresses each collection and plenty of colors to choose from. It was hard to pick from their huge collection, but the ruffled skirt on this Jasmine Bridesmaid Dress B4034 is so darling I had to put this on my list. I am not the biggest fan of straight necklines, but I will make an exception for this dress especially with the soft ruching of the chiffon on the bodice.
Alfred Angelo Bridesmaid Dress 7132 is actually the dress I am wearing in my brother’s wedding this coming August, only in black. Jessie, my brother’s finance, has the same mindset as i do – let’s get you girls something you can cutoff and wear again. This ended up being the one after trying on many dresses, but with the sweetheart neckline it went perfectly with her Sottero and Midgley wedding dress. We all are excited to wear it long for the wedding, but also excited to alter it into a cute black cocktail dress after the wedding. Not to mention, it only costs $99 here at Wedding Shoppe Inc. – yep! *(Note: This is not online just yet, call 651.298.1144 to come in and try it on or order over the phone.)
After Six is one of the many companies apart of the Dessy Group. They are usually a bit more affordable than a few of their other lines. This After Six Bridesmaid Dress 6604 made the list because I love how flowy the dress is. The bodice is set so perfectly then flows softly through the skirt. I don’t usually like halter style necklines either, but in this case it really adds to the dress. This one you could keep long to wear again or cut it off for an enjoyable little dress; you can really dress it up or make it more casual.
Lela Rose is another line from the Dessy Group, and is one of my favorites but is their highest end collection. Lela Rose Bridesmaid Dress LR147 is soft and sweet in features; some may think the flower is too big or has awkward placement, but I LOVE IT, I think it really adds to such a simple dress, and always love big, embellished decorations. You can choose between long and short, and honestly I think you can wear it again both ways! I personally do love this charcoal color on it, but it comes with some fun color choices making it hard to choose the best color option.
Another one of my all time favorite bridesmaid companies is Bari Jay. Bari Jay not only creates lines so every type of bride can find a bridesmaid dress in their collections, but they are very affordable. I pretty much drool when I look at this Bari Jay Bridesmaid Dress 227. I love the deep V-Neck with a floral halter, but my favorite part is the back. The loose draping with a little open back feature is very flirtatious. There are plenty of colors to choose from too.
Watters and Watters Bridesmaid Dress 8477 is my number two dress because the styling of it is so unique. The high neck design, the beautifully decorated belt, and pockets combine for such a darling dress. Watters and Watters consider this dress “urban chic”, especially with this Hyacinth dupioni silk and black crinkle chiffon belt, I completely agree. I love this dress, find some cute shoes to go with it and strut all over town! * (Note: Not online yet, will be soon, but to order call 651.298.1144)
In my co-worker Brittney’s words “LOVE, LOVE, LOVE” this! Yes, Brittney uses THREE loves when she likes an idea or dress so I had to whip it out for Jim Hjelm Bridesmaid Dress JH5102T. I hate to keep using the same words to describe a dress, but this full tulle dress is such a FUN and FLIRTY dress. I can just see my dancer cousin twirling around in this. Being a former dancer myself, it gives off such a dainty ballerina feel to it, and I just LOVE it. Contemplating getting for dress rehearsals next summer!
