Sarah and Justin ~ 06.23.12
Unmistakably You was excited to be involved with the wedding of fun-loving and sweet Sarah and Justin at St. Boniface Church in Zurich in June. Father Graham perfectly captured their quirky personalities in the wedding ceremony, which preceded an elegant reception at the
Oakwood Inn Resort and Golf Club in Grand Bend.
Sarah and Justin's wedding was the perfect example of hiring excellent vendors to pull off their vision. From stationery to flowers to photography, they made sure to work with professionals who listened to what was important to them, which resulted in a stunning wedding with lots of personal touches.
The tone for the wedding was set with beautiful invites by Kerri at
RSVP, who also created the seating chart for the reception.
Elegant decor was important, so they worked with Jackie of
To Suit Your Fancy to create a chic outdoor lounge for cocktail hour, and to softly drape the ballroom. The talented Natalie of
Village Vines Florists contributed two different showstopping centerpieces, and turned the fireplace into a stunning focal point.
The couples' sweet tooth was indulged with a spectacular candy buffet by
Village Vines, incorporating cupcakes made by a friend, and my personal favourite, mint smoothies!
It was important to Sarah and Justin to remember the special people in their lives who are no longer with them, so Unmistakably You created custom memorial candles, which were displayed at the church, then by the guestbook at the reception.
Another priority of the couple was to get beautiful photos, a task that
Sandra Regier Photography accomplished in spades. She captured stunning photos on the beach before dinner, and also after, as Sarah and Justin felt strongly that they wanted sunset photos as well. Unmistakably You worked with them on the itinerary of the day to allow time following the meal for them to get their sunset beach photos.
All in all, Sarah and Justin had a beautiful, elegant, and fun day, and Unmistakably You was honoured to have played a role, assisting with Day-of Wedding Coordination. I wish you the best in love and life, Sarah and Justin!
Amy's Advice
- Determine your priorities and stick to them. If you're looking for a grand, elegant reception, hire vendors who can deliver.
- Remember those who have helped you get to where you are, particularly if they can't be there to share your special day.
- There is no "magic reception formula". Monkey around with your itinerary so that you have time to do the things that are important to you, like capturing sunset photos.
