As I’m sure you well know, the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton is just a little over a week away on next Friday, April 29. Do you plan on tuning in to watch the most hyped and talked about wedding of the year or potentially even the decade? It’s a great reason to get together with the girls and be apart of this historical event.
For us here in the States, it isn’t reasonable to expect to be on the streets of London to take in the day, but we can catch it from the comfort of our own living room! You’ll need to be up early for the occasion though, because London is 5 hours ahead of the U.S. and the wedding starts at 11:00 a.m. London time. So make your Wedding Watch Party an all night affair!
Invite some friends over for an old fashioned slumber party. Get a couple bottles of vino and rent some timeless wedding flicks like My Best Friend’s Wedding, Father of the Bride, or The Wedding Singer, just to name a few, and have a marathon! You could even pull a Monica, Phoebe, and Rachel by donning some rented bridal gowns, you know really get yourself in the zone for the Royal event. The men of the house may want to go hit the sports bar if all the wine and chick flicks are too much for them.
If you’re not feeling the slumber party option, plan on getting up early if you want to have a watch party. Coverage will begin at approximately 5:00 am EST in the U.S. The Royal Channel on YouTube will be broadcasting live footage of the wedding. If you’d rather watch on TV, you’ll be able to catch it on the major news channels and channels that have a strong wedding theme in their regular show lineup. One of these stations is TLC which is having features on the Royal Wedding all week. They are also rebroadcasting the wedding at 9:00 a.m. for those of you who are having a tough time envisioning a pajama party with pots of coffee at 5 a.m. on a Friday :-).
If you want to learn anything and everything about the wedding, Prince William, Kate Middleton, Westminster Abbey, and anything else to do with the occasion, you can check out the official Royal Wedding site here: http://bit.ly/hNfQYA. Have fun with your Wedding Watch Party!
Peace, Love, & Gigs!
