I was approached a while ago by a young couple by the name of Danny & Sam who had planned their wedding day in the beautiful backdrop of Liverpool and wanted to use the area of Liverpool's historic
Albert Docks as a back drop to some wedding images. After discussing the way they wanted the wedding shoot to go and the plans they had i immediately started to research the images they raved about so much, images that they had seen of previous weddings in the
Albert Dock area, so I set about googling the area and images that had been taken before, thankfully, with geo tagging and hidden meta data in others images, it's quite easy to search 'wedding images of
Albert Docks' on Google.
So now with an idea of what the couple wanted, a few images found on google of the location (highly recommend googling any location for a photo shoot) and a few ideas already in my head, all I needed was a date, and a return train ticket to Liverpool.
So with the date of the 19th April 2011 (today as I write) booked along with a spot of lunch with the couple and a chance to finally see the wedding hotel/reception location throw into the equation the sun is shining and it's beautiful outside and to add an extra dimension to the images, they are bringing their gorgeous young baby girl, Baby Tia, so for me it's a case of getting 3 for the price of 2.
So to finish off, I'm sat on the train about 40 mins away from Liverpool Lime St station, drinking a cup of takeaway Latte, blasting my IPod classics into my head with thoughts of poses and images flowing at full speed. So I'm kind of thinking that today, is going to be almost perfect!,
What a brilliant day, well I know for sure that I loved every second of todays shoot, and I could see from baby Tia's face that she loved every second also. We managed to see the hotel complex and rooms where the ceremony will take place, talked about the whole day and what they are after and all over another coffee. We then walked from the hotel to some near by grounds and managed to grab some quick images of the trio and plan how the photo shoot will take place on the day of the wedding, so good that I can see it all in my head and great that Danny & Sam know what they want from their images as well. From there we walked some more, stopped of for a quick glass of wine and made our via to Albert Docks via somewhere for. Lunch (a guys got to eat). So after some lunch, we were finally in the main area that I wanted to see and somewhere Danny had wanted to take me, there is an arch way and in the distance you have the Liver birds on top of the building as a back drop to the images, poor Tia was to tired by this point, so it was left to Danny & Sam to get in on the action and grab some of the limelight for once, the images of these two, who are clearly in love were amazing, I could feel the heat rising with these guys, I even at one stage wanted to say "will you two get a bloody room".
Overall it was an amazing day for me, a great day for Danny, Sam & baby Tia, so now we can look forward to the wedding on the 29th July and to some more great images.
Robps: I had a text from Danny saying " I know I said it already, but we had a great day too and thank you so much for coming to see us and taking the photos in preparation for our wedding" My pleasure!!!
