Painting and Drinks together make everything better!

Being in the wedding industry I seem to get alot of info on events, vendors, etc. but a few months ago I received an email that I found pretty intriguing. It was information on having a painting party. Being a creative type, at least I think so, but not in writing :), I thought this was a great idea, and how can I do this.
Well it so happened that I was about to have a small get together at my home for my BFF Lisa’s bachelorette party. Now this was like pulling teeth to even get her to do anything. She was so against bar hopping and penis straws that trying to incorporate something fun in a tame manner was going to be a hard thing to accomplish. I was thinking maybe we could have someone come in a teach us how to cook, but then I thought that would be to expensive and complicated in a somewhat small kitchen. But then the light bulb went off about the painting idea and I thought I would give it a whirl! I gave Stephanie a call at Bottles & Brushes and she explained everything. Its $35 for 2 hours, $40 for 3 and so on. They bring everything, paint, canvas, aprons, etc. and an artist to help. Stephanie also said because it is a bachelorette party we could have the option of having a NUDE model! I loved that idea but did not think that would go over well with moms. Oh well, maybe next time. We decided to paint things that meant something to Lisa, a pic of her flowers for the wedding, her skyline view from her apt., a picture that her and I took in New York, and one of her favorite patterns. Sitting down in front of the blank canvas was very nerve racking for me, even with drinks,(I have drawer full of paints and canvas that I have not touched since my early twenties) but everyone got the hang of it, and it was sooooo much fun. I would do it again in a heartbeat!
