When my sister got engaged we all knew it was going to be a "one-of-a-kind" wedding. Her unique personality would not allow her to see a wedding in a church, country club, or even a beach. She needed something unique, special, and where no one else we know has gone before.... a cow farm in Immokalee Florida! The date would be late November, fall colors, with a maple leaf accent... and did I mention that all the girls would be in pig boots? Or what people a little more up north would call "rain boots".
Our first thoughts were WOW... what do we do now!!! My mom tried to change her mind, my father started oiling up the tractor, and my sister and I started planning... we knew that it might take a lot of work, but this could SO happen!
So we took a date out to the farm and walked around the 100+ acres till my sister found the perfect oak tree and location for the reception.... Here is what we saw...
The owner had an old barn not to far from the main entrance. With a little elbow grease.. and a shovel for the cow patties... we can make this shine!
The ceremony took a little time to find... but when she did I think the vision finally hit us all! A huge oak tree in an empty field! It looked as though it was planted to have a wedding underneath one day.
Now, you probably look at the pictures and think no way! Here is the proof! Not only did we make it happen... we made it beautiful!
