Wedding party – a necessary and fantastic part of any wedding. The attendenants are usually long time friends who consider their participation to be an honor. But in our ever increasingly mobile society many brides and grooms are finding themselves with at least one attendant who lives out of town.

There is nothing wrong with an out of town attendenant just be sure that you are clear on a few things. Be sure that this person is going to have the money to get to the event as well a the cost associated with attire and accessories. It would be ideal for the entire wedding party for the bride to help pay for the shower and the bachlorette party. In the groom’s case this may only apply to the bachlor party. If the out of town member is unable to contribute to any or all of these events, you may want to refer to them as an honorary wedding party member, and be sure that the rest of your wedding party is aware, as to avoid any feelings of unfairness. This does not mean you have to make this a center of gossip, just be sure to acknowledge the extra time and money that the local wedding party is contributing.
