The opening of the new Nassau Straw Market restores the iconic and world famous Nassau Straw Market to its rightful place at the center of the Bahamian straw culture and finally giving some 500 straw vendors a much needed home.

Straw vendors who have been operating from makeshift and tent facilities since the market was originally destroyed by fire in 2001 and more recently by hurricane Irene.
