Bonjour!
Mon nom est Margaret et mon ami, Marcus et je suis descendu à l’Hôtel Sofitel dans la Ville de Séquoia CA. J’ai voulu partager mes pensées avec vous. Appréciez!
Uhmmmm what did she say?!?
LOL What I said was
“Hello! My name is Margaret and my friend, Marcus, and I stayed at the Sofitel Hotel in Redwood City CA. I wanted to share my thoughts with you. Enjoy!”
That gives you a lil taste of our stay at the Sofitel Hotel in Redwood City. Lemme tell you a lil bit about the brand, the hotel and then I will share my thoughts with you.
The Brand
Sofitel Luxury Hotels are a part of the Accor Brand of Luxury hotels and they are worldwide. This particular hotel also has a French and American vibe so you will run into staff that speak both languages. The Accor Brand has locations in 91 countries, 4274 hotels with a total of 513,772 room across several hotels that include Sofitel, Pullman, MGallery, Novotel, Suite Novotel, Mercure, ibis, all seasons / ibis Styles, Etap hotel / ibis budget, hotelF1, Motel6, Thalassa sea & spa.
Now lets talk about the Softel San Francisco
If you and your sweetie are looking for a getaway, this is one of the spots in the Bay Area really worth looking at.
The Sofitel San Francisco sits along a bay across the way from the Oracle campus and is in close vicinity to many of the local favorite spots: The Shoreline Amphitheater, a concert and performance venue, the Stanford Theater, The San Francisco Zoo, Steinhart Aquarium, Filoli Gardens, Hiller Aviation Museum, Great America, and Golden Gate Park are all a short drive from the property. The San Francisco airport is conveniently located just miles away and they have a shuttle available that runs every hour. BART, the Bay Area’s version of a subway system, is also close that will get you into Downtown SF and across into the East Bay.
Here is a video about the hotel.
My thoughts
Is it really possible to fall in love with a hotel?
I mean is it all that weird? Yes? No? Oh well…I fell in love with this one.
From the time you approach the front door heading to check in your greeted with “Bonjour” and walk into this lobby that is breath taking. From the marble in the floor to the high ceilings to the lounge and the bar and the restaurant with the high back seating, everything about this hotel is top notch.
After check in, we approached our room down this long hallway (yeah we was allllllllll the way at the end. He remarked that this is the kinda hallway that is in scary movies lol. Yeah he’s a lil weird like that)
Walk into our room and there is a sitting area we were greeted to champagne as well as strawberries and chocolate (the Magnifique Romance package), one of two flat screen tv and the desk area. Go around to the right and there is the bedroom.
Staying in line with Accor Hotel’s fine quality, the rooms are well-appointed and spacious. Bedding is luxurious and wonderfully comfortable. OMG THE BED! King sized with some of the softest pillows and the second flat screen. There is lots of places in which to store your items along with room safe to secure your valuables. Pics are also in the Gallery.
There are toiletries and amenities available in every room. Bottled water, quality coffee and tea, vanity kits, and lighted make-up mirrors only add to the comfort, along with very soft robes and slippers. Want to listen to some music? The BOSE radio is there to help you out. There is wi-fi available for a charge in your room or you can use it for free down in the lobby area.
Bay 223 is the restaurant located inside the hotel and is very chic. The restaurant is available for room service if you don’t want to leave your room
One of the moments that stand out in my mind: housekeeping had come to my room earlier in the afternoon. The room didnt need much but I told the nice lady to exchange out the towels. A few hours later, someone who I can only say was a supervisor, came back to the room to make sure that everything was in order and ok. Imagine my surprise when he did that double take. The level of care for their guests is truly impressive and seal my love for this chain and this hotel
This is a 4 star hotel and worth it. If you every need a getaway, I would highly suggest you take a look at the Softel. I cant suggest them enough.
