Today I thought you might like to know a little bit about the person behind the Etsy store.

I made the decision today to buy only locally grown produce (within 500 miles) and other grocery items. That means my tea, food, coffee, alcohol, dairy products, etc are all going to come from local sources. I have been trying to save the world ever sine my first earth day in elementary school. Growing up in Las Vegas was hard for that, because I was the only one on board. I remember having stacks of newspapers and piles of soda bottles in my room until my parents could no longer stand it and took it to a recycling facility, because at that time it was near impossible to get them to pick up anything from your house like they do today. I had to keep it in my room because my parents would have thrown it out. They didn't care about the environment at the time, and nothing I could do or say would change their minds.

I am not vegan, but due to a recent health crisis I decided to go what I call "full hippie" and use only earth friendly cleaning products, bath products and even cat litter. I reuse all shipping and packing material that I get, plus other items like glass jars, plastic containers, ziploc bags, etc. I have a coffee mug and a water bottle instead of using throw away single use items, and I carry reusable shopping bags when I go to the grocery store. I donate my unwanted items to charities, and try to buy used clothing and household items whenever I can. I recycle whatever I can't use, and have cut down on the amount of stuff that gets thrown into the garbage. I even get digital versions of the magazines that I subscribe to in order to cut down on deforestation.

I also donate to charities that plant trees and try to clean up the environment, and instead of giving store bought gifts this year I plan on giving handmade items or donating time, money, etc to charities on a person's behalf.

I am planning on being as eco friendly as possible with my business ventures from now on, and am looking into sources for cruelty free feathers and materials like that. So I ask you to think about what your part is in helping protect this earth for future generations, and share them here if you wish.
