I just returned from the 2009 Wedding Professionals Conference in fabulous Turks and Caicos. All the speakers were inspiring. If you know anything about the wedding and events industry you might automatically know some of the names such as Sasha Souza, Caira and Simon Daykin, Jo-Anne Brown, and of course Andy Ebon. The speakers list did not end there; but you get the idea regarding the the level of quality.

It took place at Sandals owned Beaches Resort & Spa; which really made it more like a vacation then a business trip. Don't get me wrong we all learned a lot and achieved a lot of personal successes to advancing our businesses; but if having a work-related conference in this location was so relaxing and fun I can only imagine how amazing having a wedding there would be. Like all Beaches resorts it's set up for the total enjoyment of the entire family. It also turns adults into big kids. One of the major draws for families to Beaches is their popular Camp Sesame Street and Sesame Street character breakfasts. So everyone was really looking forward to seeing some furry friends. You should have heard the yelps of glee when Elmo, the Count and Cookie monster wandered into our conference room. From my experience us wedding planners are a pretty huggy bunch to begin with; but the amount of hugs suddenly going on in that room was extreme for even for us. The average five year old who hugs those Sesame Street characters have nothing on us. We're Sesame Street hugger's and proud of it.

Another amazing aspect of many Sandals owned resorts are their Butler Suites. All the butlers are classically trained and members of the International Guild of Butlers. They truly make for an amazing vacation experience. If you haven't already experienced your own personal butler it really is something you have to do before you die. I'm sure I will be talking more about this service at a later date since I absolutely LOVED LOVED LOVED this aspect of the resort.

I'm a bit stretched for time right now so can't write anymore; but I wanted to mention one last aspect of this trip. While there we did a really fun thing; many of us took part in what must have been the biggest trash the dress photo-shoot ever. I invite you to check out the pictures on facebook. It was so much fun. http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/pages/Toronto-ON/Mindless-Sophist... Trash the Dress was so much fun. It was truly the highlight of the trip. I will never be able to thank Sandals enough for allowing me to go down the water slide in my dress. SO MUCH FUN.
