You may not know but, the Library of Congress will be archiving every Tweet since it starting in March of 2006. I found this quite facinating since there are about 50 billion tweets out there and I send out my fair share.
On to my part in history... Unsuspecting little 'ol me, last spring received a "Direct Message " (a private email through Twitter) from two of my followers; @marcorbito & @scrivrner, mentioning that a couple recently announced their engagement on Twitter. They also sent out the "tweet" that they wanted to use vendors they found through Twitter. I clearly remember because I was on my way to
Little Oven for some late night dessert which is the informal tweet-up local here in Honolulu. I say unsuspecting, because I had no clue I'd be a part of Twitter history!
This past Friday, I received a phone call from MSNBC.com and had to listen to the message three times to make sure I heard the message right! I couldn't believe the it, they were asking permission to use one of my images from Emily & Max's Wedding here in Hawaii. I have to admit it's not as earth shattering as the elections in Iran where we all changed our avatars to green in solidarity or the breaking news story about the "Miracle on the Hudson" but I'm honored just the same.
Click here to see the story. Below is the famous image posted to MSNBC.com
Here are some other images from Emily & Max's Wedding. I had a fabulous time photographing them and their families to share in this wonderful haooy occasion. enjoy
