Making the most out of a bridal consultation

I love meeting a bride for the first time and many times it's at the trial consultation. She is usually giddy and excited about her big day and I love being a part of the process. I think it's really important to acknowledge that as well. Often times we are so wrapped up in our job we don't take time to recognize that for this girl, it is the only wedding day she'll have and we have to hold it to the utmost importance as well.
I let the bride tell me about her visions and dreams for the day. I think what is also important is to have the bride bring pictures from magazines of exactly how she wants her hair and makeup. That being said, making sure that the pictures being chosen are realistic-not choosing a hairdo for long hair when your hair is short and so forth.
Also, as far as makeup is concerned, choosing a look that goes with the event. I wouldn't recommend a smokey eye for instance for a morning wedding.
These are the little things that create a seamless and joyful event for everyone!
