Ladies listen up. It is a good chance that you are applying mascara all wrong. Do you pull the brush out toward your temples as you swipe it? Big mistake! That motion actually drags your lashes down, making lids look sleepy.

There are four steps to make lashes appear lush and fluttery. Take a look:

1. CURL YOUR LASHES- No need to squeeze hard: Just do one pump at the base of your lashes, another at the middle, and one more about halfway between the midpoint and tips. This creates a softer, more natural looking curve than if you only curl them at the base.

2.SWEEP MASCARA INWARD: For your top lids, slant the brush so you're pulling toward your nose as you comb it through the lashes. This fans them out so they look lush and fluttery. To set the effect, do a second coat, swiping the wand straight out in front of you.

3. APPLY IT ON THE BOTTOM LASHES TOO: This will make your eyes seem more open. You only need a smidge of color: Hold the brush horizontally and lightly press it once against lashes to transfer mascara onto them. Then give it a wiggle while brushing down.

4. ADD DEFINITION: Turn the wand vertically and using the mascara left on the bristles, paint a few bottom lashes. For extra drama, draw a super-thin line of black pencil along your top and bottom lids. It gives the illusion of thicker lashes.
