Not everyone has the luxury of having months to plan their wedding. If you are planning yours amidst a time crunch and money is tight, you’ll need some low budget tips you can implement quickly.
There is no reason why you wedding ceremony need to be in a fancy, expensive venue that has to be rented months ahead of time. You can have a beautiful and meaningful wedding in the home or backyard of a loved one for a fraction of what a public venue would cost.
Backyard weddings are easy to plan and don’t require you to have a huge budget. Asking your family and friends for help is also a great way to deal with a wedding planning time crunch. Vendors have to be booked far in advance and require deposits. Alternately, if you have a friend or family that can serve as your wedding photographer, officiant, caterer or cake baker take them up on it. Not only will you save money and time you will find that your wedding day is a more personal and meaningful experience because your loved ones helped you make it possible. Best of all, a backyard setting is perfect for keeping your decoration budget within reason since nature will provide most of the necessary beauty.
The smaller your wedding party is the easier it will be to obtain everyone’s wedding day outfits without having to order them from a shop. Buying bridesmaid dresses off the rack saves you time and money. The groom and groomsmen will likely have to order their tuxedos but depending on how many of them there are, they may get a group discount rate.
When it comes to inviting your guests you can avoid ordering formal invitations. Many couples are making their own invitations at home. Stationary and office supply stores sell invitation kits and you can personalize the final product any way you choose to.
Planning your wedding reception on a low budget means that you are better off providing your own music and even your own alcohol if you choose to have a bar. Providing the music for your own wedding is easy to do, especially if you or a close friend or family member has an iPod, iPad or something else to play music on. Hooking one of these devices up to wireless speakers and placing them near the dance floor works just as well as hiring a DJ or band.
As for alcohol, many couples will go to a local beer or liquor distributor and purchase cases for their wedding. Choosing to serve only beer and wine at your wedding is something an increasing number of couples are doing in today’s world. This allows you to let your guests enjoy some adult beverages without breaking the bank.
The décor for both the wedding ceremony and reception does not have to be expensive either. Many party and wedding supply stores carry decorations that you can easily purchase and use, at affordable prices.
These are all effective methods of planning a wedding quickly and on a tight budget, while still enjoying yourself. Just because you need to watch your spending doesn’t mean you can’t still have the wedding of your dreams with some thrifty choices.
