Lasting Hollywood Marriages

All we seem to hear about these days are celebrity break ups and divorces, but there are a number of Hollywood couples who have managed to stay together and in some cases for many, many years despite the pressures , temptations & reputation of Hollywood marriages never lasting. These couples prove if you really love someone and are prepared to work through the rough and the smooth you can have a lasting marriage.

Tom Hanks & Rita Wilson – 24 Years

This Hollywood power couple met on the set of their movie, Volunteers, back in 1985 and married in 1988. They have 2 children together and Tom has 2 children from his previous marriage. Tom is an  A-List Oscar winning movie star and Rita is a movie star in her own right although not as successful as her husband they always support each other.

Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick – 24 years

They married in 1988 after working on a PBS movie together and have 2 children together.  The family all lives together in the Upper West Side of Manhattan in New York City. Kevin is quoted in an issue of Cosmopolitan... "To me, marriage is about committing yourself to one person. In my opinion, I got the hottest babe there is; I would never do anything to jeopardize that."

Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman – 30 Years

It is rumored that that they were married during a lunch break on the set of Taxi and are still going strong 30 years later. They have three children, and are one of Hollywood's long-lasting relationships.

Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osborne – 30 Years

Married in 1982 when Ozzy moved under Sharon’s management from her father and have had one of the longest, most successful marriages in music history. They have had their ups and downs through the years with Ozzy’s  drug use, bouts of physical violence, and Sharon’s cancer but despite all this have stayed together through it all.

Martin Sheen and Janet Templeton - 50 Years

One of the most respected marriages and the longest standing in Hollywood history, Newman was notoriously faithful to his beautiful wife, famously stating in an interview, “Why go out for hamburger when you have steak at home?”

Kirk Douglas and Anne Buydens  - 57 Years, nearly 58

Despite Douglas being engaged to film star Pier Angeli at the time, this couple eloped to Las Vegas in 1954 and have never looked back. The two held a recommitment ceremony in 2004 to celebrate their 50th anniversary.

So you see even in Hollywood there are couples that go the distance.

I wonder if any of todays celebrity couples will still be together 30-40 years from now?
