Kerry Washington launches the Scandal fashion collection

Kerry Washington proved that peplum dresses are the ultimate flattering look for women at the launch of her Scandal-inspired fashion collection.

The actress was wearing a beautiful Giles dress which featured a nipped in waist, peplum detail and full skirt.

Kerry was at the launch of the Scandal fashion collection inspired by the hit TV series in which she stars in as Olivia Pope. Together with costume designer Lyn Paolo and in partnership with Elliot Staples, head of design from The Limited, they have created a fashion line exclusively for The Limited.

Kerry says: “By creating a line inspired by the show, we are introducing a collection that embodies the elegance and power of the Scandal aesthetic for real-life gladiators and everyday fashionistas.

“The collection is a nod to our devoted fans, to fans of fashion and to women everywhere who are inspired to boldly pursue their passions and look good while doing it.”

This is the first-ever design collaboration between a retailer and a top=rated network TV show, its costume designer and leading lady – although we’re pretty sure that plenty of fans of Gossip Girl and Sex and the City would have loved to have seen something similar. It’s also the first design collaboration for Washington and Paolo, the duo credited for creating powerful looks for Scandal’s protagonist, Olivia Pope, and inspiring millions of fans to call themselves ‘Gladiators in Suits’.

Olivia Pope is known for her chic and sleek look, with plenty of luxurious fabrics, tailored pieces and lust-worthy coats.

The Scandal collection is the first time The Limited have collaborated with Hollywood, prices for the collection start at $49. It arrives in stores late September and online too.
