Getting engaged and planning a wedding is an exciting time in your life, but you have some serious things to think about. For example, who are you going to ask to be your bridesmaids? And HOW are you going to ‘propose’ to them? Sure, you could just call them up, but what’s the fun in that? Here are four unique ways to ask your friends to be your bridesmaids.
End your toast by ‘popping the question’. The dinner itself doesn’t have to be extravagant; it could be as simple as pizza and beer. Just have a good time and celebrate your engagement with your best friends. You could even take it a step further and turn it into one last sleepover party.
There are lots of cute card ideas for this occasion. You could send a fancy card accompanied by a floral arrangement. Or send a recipe card with the ingredients of a bridesmaid: 1 formal dress, 1 pair of high heels, unlimited bobby pins, and so on. Another cute idea is to send a scratch-off card with the question underneath.
Bath bombs, luxurious body wash, facial masks, and lotion are all great gifts. And who wouldn’t love a box of decadent chocolates or a bottle of wine? Tap into your inner creativity to come up with an awesome box of treats that will hint at all the fun to come. This is a thoughtful way to ask your friends to be your bridesmaid and will be memorable for them.
For example, purchase matching t-shirts or bridesmaid’s robes with each person’s name embroidered on them for everyone you plan on asking. Of course, you will need to find out what size they wear, if you don’t already know. Tote bags are great too, and they will be handy come wedding time for toting around all their bridesmaids supplies. These gifts will be unique, but are also practical items your guests can use for years to come.
Congratulations on your engagement, and have FUN asking your friends to be your bridesmaids. Use this list as a starting point, but come up with something you know they will love. Once they say “yes!” it’s time for more fun...shopping for bridesmaids dresses.
