Hello to all on BridalTweet
I am Joseph Zahnle of Joseph Zahnle Photography. My interest in photography goes back to when I was a child. My whole life I have had a camera of some sort. I have photographed anything and everything. Nothing to brag about until 1994. I will tell you about 1994 in a while. The photographs I took were in no way professional but pleasing to look at.
Fast forward to the 90's. I had boxes of pictures and slides so when an opportunity came up for a publication It sparked my interest. It happened that a friend worked for the Museum of Northern as their graphic artist for their publications. My friend knew all of the professional photographers. They were only interested in looking at my slides. I took them over 500 slides and they went through each one. When it was all said and done they chose 40 slides they liked and told me to trash everything else. They gave me a lot of pointers and the reasons they chose the good ones. They in 1994 as a group chose 7 pictures 1 on the cover and the rest inside for their publication of Wildlife of The Colorado Plateau.
For the next thirteen years I didn't do much other than to frame and sell my pictures. I would have fit into the category of starving artists had I not had another job to live on. While on a job in Las Vegas as an Ironworker I came up with the idea of photographing the Ironworkers doing their jobs. I first had to see if the Ironworker Magazine had any interest. When they told me to send in action shots I showed the Contractor the email. He in turn gave me permission to photograph everyone. In 2007 the Ironworker Magazine published 10 of my pictures, 1 on the cover, 1 on back cover and the rest inside.
From 2007 on I started photographing different subjects and submitting them to micro stock sites such as Canstockphoto, Depositphotos, Fotolia, and iStock/Getty. I have learned a lot through this process. One cant be afraid of rejection as you only learn to start photographing the right way.
In 2016 I had a picture published in Today's Photographer International which was shown in the center fold.
I have photographed Weddings, Family Reunions, Portraits,Children, Pets, Walk For Life Events, Special Olympics Event, Real Estate and Classic Vehicles.
I have been published in 7 Newspapers, The Bureau of Land Managements map The Sportman's Guide to the Clearwater River. Published online with travel Post Monthly and The Knights of Columbus's online Knights In Action.
I have 12 excellent reviews so far and Thank God no bad ones. Everyone has been more than happy with the pictures I have taken.
I have my first Wedding Magazine out in different business's now. I will improve it and add pages for local vendors for their business cards as progress. Here is the link. It is now a 24 page magazine and this link is in PDF form.
