I was so sick on my Wedding Day

Why do I recommend using essential oils throughout the wedding planning process?

Because 4 days before I got married, I came down with Strep Throat. I was so stressed and run-down. I was living overseas and was getting married back in the States and it required a lot of planning.

I started feeling unwell on the flight home from Paris to Chicago, but there was no time to stop and rest. We went straight from the airport to tux place to ensure my husband's attire would be ready in time.

The next two days were a whirlwind of catching up with family and friends and all the last-minute wedding details.

I was finally stopped in my tracks with a high fever.

I went to the doctor who prescribed powerful anti-biotics and other meds and sent me to bed for the next 4 days. During those 4 days, I was unable to pick my head off the pillow.

Friends and family coming from out-of-town had to visit me bed-side during those days. My sister had to go shoe shopping for me...and I tried them on by half-sitting up and swinging one foot down to the ground to see if they fit. I was so sick I could not put both feet on the floor at the same time!

I was on so much medication that I barely remember the rehearsal dinner and my only memories of my wedding are from the video and the photos that people took.

The worst part was the wedding night. I was too sick to spend it in the traditional way...if you know what I mean.

17 years later, we're still married. I believe it's because we were able to make it through that horrible week.

What I learned from that experience is the importance of maintaining my health and and wellbeing during times of stress.

That intention led me to learn about essential oils and aromatherapy. I am always so happy to provide samples and complimentary consultations to brides who want to feel great, have lots of energy, remain clear-headed and be able to cope well with all the aspects of her wedding.
