The first requirement for having your wedding in the Bahamas is that you must have a “Marriage License” from the Bahamas Government Registrar
General’s Office. And your Marriage License is valid for three months. Your Marriage License authorizes a Bahamas Wedding Officiant to perform your wedding ceremony.
After a Bahamas wedding, a “Marriage Duplicate Register” (Form No. 9) is sent to the Registry by your Bahamas Wedding Officiant advising them that your wedding has taken place and from this document, certified copies of your Marriage Certificates
are issued.
