Pssst...pssst hello there!, do you remember me? yes I know I should be hiding my face in shame, I literally hop, skipped and bungee jumped off the radar these past couple of months, but not without reason I can safely add: lets just say it has been more than eventful.

So this week I'm going to be giving you a double dose of blog-tastics news in two posts ( figured I'd try to sweeten you up, with the 'more is better' tactic... lol) so where to start.... ok so in these past months I have become an official 'safe to operate a vehicle solo' Driver! yes thats right I past my driving test and first time too! not to shabby if I say so myself! lol I've also been away travelling to the beautiful Dominican Republic! the country and its people are absolutely gorgeous! The sun, The sea and....ahem... a cocktail or two meant I was definitely riding high on cloud nine; if you've never ventured to this part of the Caribbean then I would highly over recommend you do so and pronto! it is has fast become my top 5 holiday destination. But the real high point for me.....are you ready??..... I got my first ever client! that's right my first ever paying customers; a couple who signed on the dotted line to take up the services of La Belle Vie Events (the website is coming soon I promise, so watch this space).

My Company Business Cards

Priscilla and Alastair are the couple I owe a huge thanks to, for taking the chance with a newbie like me and I couldn't have wished for more lovely clients. I had the job of finding them their perfect venue for their wedding next autumn, they wanted to have a small reception of approx 57 guests and they wanted to find somewhere that reflected their humble and just general down-to-earth personalities. To say the prospect of being a REAL paid Planner with an actual client, was daunting is an under-blooming-statement lol, I must have a seriously good poker face - because I don't think they could tell how nerve racking it was for me lol. So, I was only contracted to work with with them for a month and let me just tell you, it had to be one of the BEST months of my life, to finally be realising my dreams - there are no words for it; but I digress! after a months of viewing different and equally beautiful venues such as The Royal Exchange - which I have to say is simply stunning! the building architecture alone will have you reaching for your credit card to book it! considering it's such a high end and elegant venue you would expect it to be very costly, but I was pleasantly surprised that this wasn't the case and how reasonable the costings were. The staff are so courteous and the Venues Event Coordinator Branka was more than helpful to me (and patient too, I'm sure my endless stream of emails could test the patience of a saint lol) I would highly recommend anyone having a wedding or event, to consider this venue, i mean just look:

On this occasion however, my couple decided to go for a venue nearer to their home, they booked The Barn Hotel in Ruislip, a homely and quaint hotel with newly renovated rooms and bridal suites - which I must admit left me so impressed and secretly wanting to book myself a room there; they were such a lovely modern contrast to the rustic feel of the main hotel building. After being shown around by the Venues Coordinator Neetoo -  who again  was just simply lovely to deal with - the couple felt this venue suited them and what they wanted, so they went ahead and put down a deposit - which for a newbie Planner like myself was just so great to hear; it meant it was a job well done and you can't ask for more than that!

So as you can tell I haven't been away hiding under a rock somewhere, I have been keeping busy and productive thank you very much! lol but keep an eye out for the next post - real exciting stuff..... four words...... The State of Grace ;-)
