About the Venue

The Golden Gate Club is a San Francisco classic with its bay views and beautiful Spanish architecture nestled into a grove of trees that frame in the famed Golden Gate Bridge. With the Presidio as its backdrop, The Golden Gate Club has nearby access to several gorgeous ceremony sites, including two historic chapels. However, if you want to keep all of your events on-site, the Cypress or Hawthorne Rooms make fantastic locations for your ceremony, followed by cocktails in the U-shaped courtyard adorned in soft twinkling lights. After cocktails, guests will be ushered to the Ventana Room, a space whose floor to ceiling windows combine the amazing natural landscape outside with the dramatic architecture of the cathedral ceilings and immense fireplace.

Ask the Expert

How fun is the use of blackberries as a subtle but whimsical note?! This season we are seeing strawberries, mini artichokes, and fresh herbs popping up in bouquets and centerpieces everywhere! Using edible plants can work well for the "foodie" or the nature-loving couple as it incorporates one of your own passions while adding a unique and gorgeous element.

Moving from the ceremony's softer colors, this couple revved up the design for the dinner space with a more modern look. With the Ventana Room's expanse of tall white walls, a great lighting design and pops of color will completely transform the room. This couple chose a bold color story of vibrant blues with bright splashes of red in the contemporary orchid floral arrangements. The tone on tone palette is the perfect accent for the modern styling, and bright white acts as a third color. The modern vases and simple wooden folding chairs help to tie the entire design together. The use of red, white, and blue in this 1940's era military building gives a classic Americana feel. To get a similar look but you're not sure about the RED, WHITE and BLUE - consider using a bright aqua blue or a more military blue shade with grey undertones paired with bold apple red.
