Talk about a great background that is a blank slate where you can make all of your dreams come true. Every bride dreams about having a "Great Gatsby" style garden party where she can comfortably dance under the stars. This is a property where you can picture gentlemen strolling in white suits while children play croquet and the women in hats sip lemonade. The Empire State Mine is a rare find - a gorgeous estate-style property nestled among the lush green forests of the Sierra Nevada Foothills, all for an extremely modest price.

The property is run by the park system and is a blank slate. If you are trying to go big in this venue, I'd recommend hiring a great planner and designer. Planning the logistics in such a vast open space can be a challenge. A good planner is trained to think about the logistic first and the pretty second. Before you can think about flower arrangements and your first dance, you need to think about a water sources, a mobile kitchen, generators for the lights and the band, and who is delivering and stetting up all the tables and chairs.
