How Young Is Too Young to Get Married?

OK. So how young is too young to get married?  I’ve been seeing a lot of different ‘official’ reports saying that the average age of men and women getting engaged and married is on the rise. I’m personally glad to hear that. In my opinion marriage is not the place to grow up; it’s the place to grow together. The more mature and sure of yourself you are, the more fun you’ll have in any relationship.

I myself got married at 28 and had my first child at 30. My husband and I were both semi-settled in our careers and getting used to toilet seats up when they should be down and socks sitting 10 inches from the hamper.

According to a number of recent articles, including a report in theatlantic.com, the benefits of getting married later have both negative and positive consequences according to individual situations.  For college-educated women it appears that delaying marriage shows substantial financial advantages. For men however, marrying in their 20’s has proven more lucrative with most of them making more money than those who married after 30, regardless of their level of education.

I know that depending upon demographics, finances and individual maturity, the age might change, but what do you think the perfect age to get an engaged and married are?
