And now learn how to tie a sash:

The Classic Bow

You are going to make a knot out of two ends of the sash. Fold each end in long loops. Criss-cross the loops, and pull one over-and-under the other, maintaining the loops. From the base of this slip-tie, bring one loop around the other and pull through the center hole of what will be a knot. Keep knot loose, and even out the bow, to have two equal sides, with long sash ends. When done, tighten a bit, but not too much, so the center knot of the bow remains neat and unpuckered. Voila!

The Draped Sash

Double over the sash. Wrap around your waist. Take the two loose ends of the sash, and pull through the loop of the doubled over sash. That’s it. Easy and graceful.

The Obi Sash

Place the solid front of sash on your waist, letting the separate ends remain in the back. In the back of the waist, criss-cross each side of the sash over each other and bring the ends to the front of your waist. Tie the sash into a knot once. Select the strand coming out of the top of the knot. Cross it over and behind the strand coming out of the bottom. Cross it back over the top of the bottom strand and then under itself, creating a loop. Pull both strands tight and adjust folds of knot to create a smooth square.

The Twist Knot Sash

Double over the sash. Place looped sash around your waist with loop in center front. Take one loose sash end and pull through the center loop. This will create a twist. Bring the loose end around to center back, and tuck under the back of the sash. You look beautiful!
